Bord Bia – The Irish Food Board is responsible for the development of new markets and the promotion of Irish food, drink and horticulture products internationally. The role of Bord Bia is to act as a link between Irish food, drink and horticulture companies and existing and potential customers.

Origin Green
Launched in 2012, Origin Green is Bord Bia’s national sustainability programme for the Irish food and drink industry. It is the only sustainability programme in the world which operates on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector and food and drink producers. The programme provides a structure for Irish food and drink companies to showcase their commitment to producing in a sustainable manner.
Origin Green is independently verified, enabling Ireland’s farmers, producers and food businesses to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets – reducing environmental impact, serving local communities more effectively and protecting the extraordinarily rich natural resources that our country enjoys. To date, there are 49,000 beef farms and 18,000 dairy farms signed up to the programme, 284 verified members from Ireland’s food and drink manufacturing supply base and 6 verified members from the retail and foodservice sector.
